Showers of Blessings Day 18
Blessing: God’s Mercy
And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. Luke 1:50 KJV
Message:
I remember when I was a child, I loved helping my dad and my grandpa as they worked in their big gardens. My dad always let me hoe the potatoes and pick weeds around the plants, which I enjoyed doing, but I loved helping in grandpa’s garden the most because he had a big strawberry patch! I loved helping pick those big red strawberries.
One day I was exceptionally hungry for some of those strawberries and even though grandpa wasn’t around I decided I would quickly run down and pick some of those juicy berries.
Grandpa had told me to never go into the garden by myself because there might be snakes among the strawberry plants, but I didn’t listen, and when I bent down to pick a big strawberry, I almost grabbed a big snake instead! I let out a scream so loud that grandpa heard it in his house, and he came running. Thankfully the snake slithered away without biting me, but I sure learned my lesson to listen to grandpa from then on. Thankfully, grandpa was compassionate, and though he was upset I had disobeyed him, he had mercy on me and offered me another chance to be his helper.
God‘s Mercy is much greater than my grandpa’s or anyone else’s, and God’s mercy is never ending from generation to generation. God offers goodwill, kindness, goodness, and favor towards those who fear Him. He is compassionate and merciful to those who fear Him. His mercy provides salvation for all who will believe in and receive His Son Jesus, and His mercy continues daily, forever, to those who fear Him as they walk through this world.
