Blessing: Prolonged Days
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you.” Proverbs 9:10-11 NKJV
Message:
In Matthew 10:16, Jesus said: “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
If we fear the Lord, read His word, walk with Him daily then we will gain His wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We will learn how to be wise to avoid evil and harm. We will learn how to live in this world and not be enticed or trapped into taking chances or making foolish mistakes that could cost us our lives. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” but knowing Christ and following Him daily is walking in wisdom, for He is wisdom. “Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:24
The fear of the LORD offers us many blessings as we have seen, but this verse holds multiple blessings!
Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Long Life are four more blessings we who fear the LORD are given besides all the others we have been learning about!
I would say we who fear the Lord are a most blessed people!
