Standing on the Promises: ANXIETY

Posted on October 2, 2024September 30, 2024 by SGLY Devotionals

A Precious Promise regarding ANXIETY
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7

Thoughts
Anxious means: distressed, uneasy, fearful, worried, concerned, disturbed, or apprehensive.

We could be anxious about something bad or even about something good—however, God says we should not be anxious about anything!
Instead, we should pray about everything, giving thanks to God, letting Him know what it is we need.
He promises, if we do this, that we will receive His peace which will guard our hearts and minds.

These are very important and helpful verses and ones which we should keep in our minds and hearts daily. Let’s not be anxious about anything, but pray about everything, thankful for His promise to us, trusting in Him, and we will live in God’s peace as He guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Prayer:
Dear God,
It is hard sometimes to live in this world without becoming anxious about things but am going to make it a point to pray about everything that might cause me anxiety instead of becoming anxious about things.  I am very thankful for this promise God, and I want to claim it daily so I can live in the peace You provide.  Thank You for guarding my heart and mind through Christ Jesus.  In His name I pray. Amen.
