A Precious Promise: ETERNAL LIFE—EVERLASTING LIFE
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
1 John 5:13
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. “John 3:16
Thoughts:
“And this is the promise that He has promised us–eternal life.” 1 John 2:25
The Promise of Eternal Life or Everlasting Life (the word for both is the same in scripture) is for those who believe on and in the name of the Son of God, who is Jesus Christ.
To believe means: to have trust, faith, or confidence that:
- Jesus is the Son of God (John 3:16)
- Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21)
- God raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 10:9)
- Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25,26)
- Jesus is the Way, Truth, Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6)
Prayer:
Dear God,
- I Believe that Jesus is Your Only Son.
- I Believe Jesus came to save His people from their sins.
- I Believe that Jesus is the resurrection and the life.
- I Believe in my heart that You, God, raised Jesus from the dead.
- I believe in and on Jesus for Eternal life.
- I believe that Jesus is now seated on Your right hand in heaven, God, and He is interceding for me.
- I do Believe in and on Jesus as my Savior and Lord, and I claim this Promise of Eternal Life today!
- Thank You for this wonderful gift of eternal life God!
- In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen
